Why do so many great artists keep on making the same rookie mistake baffles me...

I mean. I've seen entirely too many great artists putting eyes over the hair, or have the lineart visible from over the hair...

Is that a problem? I mean you see it all the time in Anime/Manga, and if lots of "great" artists do it, doesn't that mean it's a well respected and widely used style?
i don't think its a "mistake" at all, its just a style choice.

Yes. I personally don't like it, and if there is one thing that is able to kill any impact the image had on me is this.
And if that's a style choice then with all due respeci, it's pretty stupid one.
Plus it dosn't make any sense to me.
But what do I know....
