If brevity is the soul of wit, then this has gotta be one of the least witty comic series ever written. I’ve got to stop doing this.

The comic title is referring to the rather annoying habit of TV characters to whisper their secret plans into other characters' ears, even when there's no one else around. In the comic, Sonic just asks for the part where he tells Falco about his plan to be simply cut out of the comic, which basically produces the same effect from the audience's perspective.

You kind of asked questions and then immediately answered them in the following sentences. I'm not sure how to respond.

Those weren't questions. I was just stating my observations. At first I was going to talk about how the scenarios contradict themselves, but I just rolled with it.

Rolling around at the speed of sound...

Alternatively, Sonic's plan could work, and we see it the whole way through, and Dark Link gets trapped in the Box... and then Link uses some method to escape and the arc continues.

I love your rant! Blocking the fourth wall is very effective! Sonic's IQ has definitely gotten up by a whole percent!

His IQ probably evens out overall. He gains knowledge by watching TV, and he fries his brain by watching TV.

That's a smart guy right there.

...I love those long rants. No, seriously, I really do.
And I love your writing style.

"You watch way too much TV." - "I watch it in fast-forward, actually [...]" ...I can really see him do that...

That's actually a good point. Walls of text seem to make characters smart in these comics.

Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-16 22:36:15 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, UL, I don't think there could ever be a style that quite matches yours. I could read a piece of your work, not knowing it was you who wrote it, and almost instantly guess it was you.

This is hilarious as always, in that "What the hell?"/"OMG, this actually makes sense." sort of way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-16 23:08:48 +0000 UTC]

That almost makes me want to try to write something so entirely against my regular style that it seems like someone else took over for a day...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 02:02:42 +0000 UTC]

Sure, you can try it. But, honestly, I adore your writing style.

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 02:04:24 +0000 UTC]

What is my writing style, exactly?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 02:05:31 +0000 UTC]

Sarcastic, witty, very detailed, lengthy to the point that you wonder exactly WHAT the point is, bizarre, but very clear by the time you finish reading.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 02:09:53 +0000 UTC]

I'm fine with that style. Did you bother to read "Babble Battle"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:15:53 +0000 UTC]

Probably. Which one is that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:17:43 +0000 UTC]

The huge wall of text. I mean did you bother to read that whole thing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:18:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh! Yes, actually, I did.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:19:53 +0000 UTC]

I was honestly expecting no one at all to read that. It seems like the majority of commenters did!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:21:02 +0000 UTC]

It's because you don't get the full effect of your style without reading ALL of it. To really apprectiate the complete and utter clarity at the end, you have to get through all the "WTF?" explanation stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:24:00 +0000 UTC]

Good to know my style makes sense in the end. Too many times I've started reading a rant only to find myself even more confused at the end than when I started.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:26:55 +0000 UTC]

Nah, most of the time by the end (when people read your stuff) they realize that they never really needed the explanation in the first place. But in order to appreciate why that's funny, they have to read the explanation.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:28:54 +0000 UTC]

...Hmm?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:35:41 +0000 UTC]

Never mind. The point is your writing style is unique, but hilarious. Don't change it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:37:38 +0000 UTC]

No, I want to know what you said. I was confused.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Starlightlovesya123 In reply to NOTknownlight [2011-02-17 22:44:30 +0000 UTC]

Okay, lemme see if I can explain this clearly. So you provide a giant wall of explanation text, right? And, technically, when you get to the end of the comic/story, you realize that you didn't really need the explanation in the first place. At least not nearly that MUCH explanation. But what's funny is that you actually READ all that freaking explanation, when really it could have been summed up in a sentence, and now you're just left with a "WTF? This actually makes sense" feeling when you were sure that you had a "WTF? I don't know what this guy is ranting on about" feeling.

In other words, your stories are extremely bipolar and extremely sarcastic and its very funny.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NOTknownlight In reply to Starlightlovesya123 [2011-02-17 22:49:44 +0000 UTC]

You're right, I could've summed up Sonic's rant into: "There's no drama in something going wrong if no one knows what's supposed to be happening, and there's also no drama in seeing exactly what you were just told would happen."

But I don't. Good for me.

Sonic is a genious. And enjoys giving long explanations. It sorta makes sense to have him watch in fast forward. My favorite catch phrase: "You're too SLOOOW!" I enjoy annoying my friends in Temple by running away and using this taunt. Nice use of it in the comic. (third panel from the bottom on the right)

NOTknownlight In reply to TAILS-FAN1 [2011-02-15 00:08:02 +0000 UTC]

Actually, that's Sonic's real running animation, not his taunt.
