As far as i know there are finds in danemark and finland that are similar - i have to do more research about the subject If i find a proper picture of an artifact with dating and scientific reference i will post it the MyArmoury forum

Haha. So whats german interpretation of bajeux tappesty - on some fighters there are braunish texture on arms that is not seen in "civilian" figures of the tappestry - leather armguards or not?

I never looked into that subject, Vikings are simply not my thing, but i have a good copy of the tapestry at home.
I think you are referring to the warriors in chainmail?
In my opinion that is more likely to be cloth, similar to civilian clothing.

thanks for the link... I knew there was alot back and forth about the knife. Have had a few smithes call it a smithsknife. But had a guy in a museum say they used those kind of knifes. that stinking liar xD
