Description
While exploring an abandoned camp site one day, Scar came across a discarded purple teddy bear that had obviously been left behind by camping tourists. Rather than leaving it or ripping it to shreds; he took it home.
Over the next few days, Scar's bond with his bear grew stronger, and he realized that all his anger and jealousy melted away. He finally had something he could call his own, he was happy for the first time in his young life. He named his bear Taraja (swahili for the word 'hope').
Unfortunately, Scar's happiness was short lived. One sunny day, he and his family went to explore their lands. Worried that Taraja might get lost or ruined, he left his teddy at home. When they returned; his bear was gone.
While they were away, tourists came to explore PrideRock, there they found Taraja, they picked him up and took him back to their home in the United States. They washed him, repaired him and decided to give him to their daughter Daisy for Christmas. Taraja was later renamed Lotso.
Without his bear, Scar's suppressed anger grew stronger. Without knowing it, the tourists who took Scar's bear; put the Pridelands and everyone in it in grave danger.
