I love Copper's arc in the film. Too bad they pooped on it in the midquel.

I feel bad saying it's shit, cuz the animation and voice acting is really good, and I have to admit I really do like most of the soundtrack. It's the story. My God. I mean, the story itself might be ok for a separate film. Kind of. But for "The Fox and the Hound"?! It seems so mean, since the actors, musicians and artists clearly did their best. Heck, are the writers at fault, even? Some old fart at Disney was probably like "hey! Baby animals are cute. What other baby animals do we have?" At least with "Lady and the Tramp II" (which is ok) and "101 Dalmatians II" (which I haven't seen since I was a kid, but after Doug Walker gushing about it, it's on my re-watch list) managed to keep the style and simple charm of the original. Ok, the former has too many people faces. Still, even the animation in TFatH2 is... not like the original. It's good, but it's too polished! No more rustic charm.
They took the harrowing, sombre story about racism and class, how it can effect the purest of friendships, a symbolic tale even more important today (hello, specific orange corn cob head!) and turn it into... atrocious fan fiction. No, it's worse than fan fiction, for fans would never do this. It's an insult to the original, to the poor sods that put their souls into this, and Patrick Swayze for this being his last film. Also, the kid who replaced Corey Feldman? Kudos to him, because he tried so hard to be a goode boi, but such nasly adorableness can not be easily replicated. I am also aware that the original film is technically a bastardization of a really brutal book that I have yet to read, but the synopsis rips out my soul and I'm still recovering after "The Last Guardian" so my heart can take little pain. Alas, I digress.
To quote Lindsay Ellis, "no matter where it ends, you are where you were in the original; in the middle of "The Fox and the Hound," being torn apart by society. And that's horrible."

I've always loved Copper. This picture is very well done. Copper looks like what he does in the first movie, but more detailed in your style. You're definitely a great artist.
