Description Anyone miss the Griffin?

*Crickets*

Truely an uninspiring design... The original, I mean. The only distinctive thing about it was the cockpit.

Maybe that's why many of the unseen designs remained unseen. Many other Battletech designs were so much more inspired than this lot... especially the case when such distinctive designs as the Rifleman, Warhammer, and Marauder stand head and shoulders over the majority of the simple humanoids of 3015.

Legal issues aside, back then rarely any serious artist bothered with "mechanoids" (japanese aside, they were always a little wierd).
Also, styles improve and evolve, no matter what creationists say.
I love the Technical Readout Project Phoenix, it gives a new live to many of those designs.
In MechWarrior Online, the Griffin recieved a nice incarnation (i got me the Project Phoenix Overlord pack).

That's awesome, although I'd feel awefully scared in a cockpit like that.

I'm sure the pilots of the H8 Roundfacers (from which the Griffin was derived) weren't feeling so safe in their cockpits either.

But then, it seems the Griffin is supposed to be fighting at a distance. If you did get close enough to call your shots, then you'd have more to worry about then a head hit.
