He's been very ill all his life.. so instead of living in a mobile plastic bubble, he developed suits to help him survive.
He can Walk around without be so.. well he's still rather conspicuous but he He likes it better then the bubble.

Not sure, but what with the suit in all I am sorta guessing Shelby's was a ill kid or was in a horrible accident thing.

Yes he was and still is very Ill. So he has had several different bio suits who he's developed over the years and he has various suits depending on his symptoms that day.
But as of recently he is on the edge of discovering a cure for himself.

I love pretty much everything about his design.c:
Kris's colors are amazing as usual, and the line-art is fantastic; I especially love how you can tell that he is bony and thin through that fantastic suit of his.

yeah, what lil detail I can give out about Shelby is that he was a REALLY -and still is- Sick child growing up. So basically he grew up in a bubble, imagine all the working out he could do! lol
So yes he's very skinny so Im happy that comes threw here. But don't judge a book by its cover.
