"To look into the eyes of a wolf is to see your soul..."God, my camera is total crap. >_< It turned out all grainy and all the pretty detail is lost and... blegh. But in real life I really love it.
This took me three solid weeks in art class, one of the longest projects I've ever done. It's made with acrylic on a 16 x 20 inch canvas. Nice n' big.But I really love how this turned out. My art teacher said she wanted to put this in the regional art contest next sping. ^__^
Oh, and it's another piece for my portfolio. Gotta get cracking on making that DVD... >_<

This is the kind of thing you see in professional galleries.
Is this in oil pastels? I'd sure as hell be surprised if it wasn't because that particular kind of marking is almost impossible to make with brushes or color pencils.
I'm going to offer a suggestion, and I maybe don't think you should do this right away, or maybe even within the next couple years, but sometime.
You should simply stop taking classes and instead apprentice under a conceptual artist at a movie or game studio.
I also think you should branch out a bit. I know how you feel about dogs and wolves, I feel the same way about sharks and rays. But you can't really make a living from drawing just one subject.

I was thinking of apprenticing, but I really need to finish my high school first before seriously thinking about that. And I'm not sure who would be willing to take me, either. =/

I love the colors of the fur and it's just like he's staring into your souuuulll. xD Really detailed too, I can tell even though I know how cameras totally fuck up paintings. All in all, sweet piece for your portfolio. :3

Well, acrylics have always been my friend, so I guess it has something to do with that.

omg its going to jump out and bite me. nice pic just love the colors and the textures. the eyes are hunting they relly stand out. i like the colors on the nose as well.
