just yah know.... an annual redraw. I usually only redraw stuff only if I feel something can be added to redrawing it. And oh boy. This was one of the first pictures I ever posted on DA 3(?) years ago.2016:
Look at this disaster I don't even know where to start with it. I get what I was trying to do but really?
2018:
Better, but the nose and the way I colored the eyes always bugged me (too shiny even for my style!) in this one. The face just looks too small. Also chill with the highlights. And of course no clothing folds or shading (admittedly I'm still weak in that area so I can't judge myself too harshly.
And then that brings us to 2019! My shading still needs lots of work, but I finally was able to work in that feathered veil idea, and I decided to add a bit of a story to the image by taking the flower pattern from the 2018 version and expanding it and making them more than just a background pattern. Obviously there's more I could do (more shading practice, giving more form to the clothing, give the background more depth), but I'm happy with my development so far!!! >w<
