Backstory-came from and resides in the star Zavijava, a star in the constellation of Virgo (aw that's cute she's part of her girlfriend's sign 💕). Kahurangi and Raerere were both banished due to their powers being a lawbreaker in the fae realm, Raerere's being body possession, Kahurangi's being necromancy. The fae highly respect those that have passed, with an annual prayer festival. The fae believe that once a fairy has finally died, which is usually after 1000 years, they ascend back to where it is believed all fae originate, the stars. It is also believed that a fae soul, or "star" as they call it, must stay pure of any manipulation or harm, in order to be able to glow bright enough once they're soul has passed on to help guide the living fae. In a sense, Raerere and Kahurangi's powers were considered by fae to be incredibly insulting to both the stars in the sky and the stars still in the fae. And so Kahurangi was banned from the realm for disturbing the natural way of the universe and dimming the glow of the stars by bringing the dead fae back to life as well as manipulating them to her own will. Both Raerere and Kahurangi are considered to be some of the most despised fae in this series, and fae parents often use their names as a reminder of what happens when their fae child is behaving badly with their powers.

Traits-tough, strong, clear-headed, rare, wears a necklace with the greenstone kahurangi, which glows a bright green when she uses her power, uses it to make her power stronger, favourite environments are volcanoes and glaciers, and open woodlands, is dramatic, is a carnivore, eats small mammals and birds, sleeps straight through May to July, kills her victims through strangulation, would probably take a lot of selfies, loves music, is greedy, her facial tattoos can be seen on her eastern boa constrictor form, likes to be alone, takes a lot of bathes (fae wonder where she went when all she's doing half the time is taking bathes), loves being loved, can sing, is currently trying to find a way to make dragons real, creepy af sometimes, morbid, rlly likes macabre, wears pink but is actually hella goth, would probably be a Pokemon fan, surprisingly feels safe in the light, so Raerere uses her glowing white lights to help calm Kahurangi down when she's scared, keeps true to her self and her culture, can be violent, can play the pūtātara, a type of Māori trumpet.
