Beautiful work! I really like the lighter colored borders. Very well done!

I would have liked some thicker leather. It kind of looks thin especially if you want good results from a Cuir Boli (thats at least my somewhat limited experience ). The design is also a bit square for my taste, especially with the bottom tassets. They could also have moved a bit to the side. Excellent work with the lacing, I've always found that hard.

Thank you ! I really know this armor is everything but not perfect, to be honest, I began this armor 2 years ago when I started to work on leather... I was too much ambitious. Finally, I modified this armor a lot of time but there was much mistakes I cannot repare.. Next time it will be better !

Looks great Great idea to use thongs for sewing here.

What made you decide to only scale the front? The individual scales look like they're warping a bit from the lacing. Do you know how to do Cuir Boli? If not (Or if you'd like some tips) send me a note and I'll send my instructions to you. (I came up with them through trial and error and the scant online directions I could find.)

As I said to Markehed, I began this armor 2 years ago (when I was totally beginner in leather work), so, at this time, I made only the front because I didn't have enough leather. And for now, I didn't find the same color of leather and laziness to recolour it. So, from when I started this armor, I modified it much time but as you can see, there is a lot of mistakes and others things I cannot repair...

Cuir Boli ? You mean with bees-wax ? I know but not tested yet. For now I just use boiled water. I will try with bees-wax when I'll make another lamellar

I use the boiled water and then use bees wax on the surface to prevent cracking. I've found that the leather dries out a lot after the boiling water treatment.

After many years you mean ? I never had this problem... Did you grease it sometimes ?

No. I typically use cuir boli on bracers, so after trying to make the curve of the arm, the bracer would dry and become brittle on the surface if I didn't wax and oil it a bit. It stayed quite hard afterward, but the surface tension was lessened, so it wouldn't crack when placed under stress.

Sympa toussa toussa.
Encore une fois, déçue de ne pas avoir une présentation de la bestiole en une seule photo, mais je sais pourquoi tu ne le fais plus. Mais sinon dans l'ensemble c'est plutôt pas mal, on voit bien l'armure et tout.
