Whoa, this has been a WIP on my comp for over two years now, but today I finally buckled down and finished it LOL XDPoor Old Fisherman, he's got no clue Layle is cheating.
This was one of my favorite mini-games in Crystal Bearers along with the bird hatching on your head LOL
Tried to take it a bit easy on this one, since my arm is still being a pain in the rear and doesn't know if it want's to be healed or still hurting OTL It's driving me crazy.

The fishing minigame was so fun~
Except the one in the Pilgrim's Ice Cave. That one is terrible. The rare catch never stays in the open long enough to be caught. :c
And pshh Layle's not cheating. The fisherman explicitly says he won't loan you his rod. What else is Layle supposed to use? :v

god, some of them were horrid to try and get... I didn't get all of those either. I must admit, I did rather like the hidden springs cameo of the Excalibur, though.

LOL It was fun, but took a really long time, and one of the medals even requires the help of a second player XD (I dragged my bro into it)

I had a really hard time beating both the iron giants and all the smaller enemies in the harvest prairie. I did it once or twice, but there was always some smaller monster left alive and I couldn't kill it before the time ran out.

LOL the trick is knowing how to defeat the giants quickly. The fastest way would be to wind them up until they're ready to shoot lasers from their eyes at you, then pull down the visors on their heads so that they destroy themselves LOL. but it's a tricky method that doesn't always work XD
Maxing out Layle's focus and attack stats helps a bit too XD

Yeah, that's the method I tried using but MAN is it ever tricky! The timing, argh! Yeah, maybe I should try maxing him out a bit more next time. But at least when they blew they took out half the field with them...

another method would be to max out Layle's attack and throw anything and everything you can find at them, including other monsters. the Iron Giants are tricky, but keep at it and you'll get it eventually. It's also a bit easier if you wait until new game+ to tackle that field, since a lot more accessory options open up for you in new game+ XD

Yeah, I was totally doing most of the monster-killing in new game+. That's when I really started goofing off and enjoying the game rather than being all serious about it. XD

LOL well in your first play through you're like, "OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT LET'S GO LAYLE WE GOTTA FIND OUT OMG AF;KNA;SDFHJASJ!!" and on New Game+ you're like, "Meh, let's go fishing or throw around some old people at Alfitaria"

Yeah, really. The game isn't as fun if you're just focused on the story, but turns a lot more fun once you get into the (probably Layle's) mindset of "let's go bugger off and do something totally irrelevant". At that point the world's content really opens up hugely. So many areas to explore and mini-games you never see if you're just doing straight story mode!

Well the first playthrough I was definitely focused on the story, because I wanted to know what happened next LOL XD
New game+ was when I slowed down a bit and spent time goofing off and yeah, the world really opened up and offered a richer experience XD

I found the characters a lot more interesting than the story in the end. And the original FFCC cameos, like the TV in the station.

LOL how can you not find the library? All you gotta do is board an Afitarian Shuttle and mess with the control panel at the front to go wherever you want (you can also mess with how fast you're going too, depending on which direction you swing the wiimote - vertial swing (ie. up and down) will change the speed. horizontal swing (side to side) will change your destination). You can also get to the Kickerbaul Stadium and the Airship Dock this way.
