TzekelKan is a high priest and guardian of temples in El Dorado. Possessing equal authority with Chief Tanabok, but very influential and charismatic individual who has lived entire years serving gods. Born as son of former priest, he was pressured and put into training of priesthood since he was a child, believing gods are entities of perfection and not to be questioned. During the summit with Aztecs, the conquistadors attacked and captured him as a slave. Seeing how some of them bleed during battle, he believed conquistadors are “sacrilegious devils” who attempt to taint his land and refused to tell them the location of his homeland. However, at night in slave auction house, he was freed by Mireya who held sympathy for him. Offered with water, food, and secret passage out of Colonial town, he promised to pay the debt of the woman with green eyes who saved his life.

While a humble servant of gods, he is a sadistic individual who uses human sacrifice to get rid of “impure” or “sinful” humans. He is indeed mistrustful of himself, occasionally express fear of what punishment gods might give to him if he ever possess such “impure” disposition. While having rivalry and hostility with philanthropic Chief Tannabok, they never had proper confrontation. However, he develops the change in character ever since he was saved by Mireya from slavery. Later, believing she is a “goddess of golden hair and green eyes” from prophecy, he held an absolute pledge of loyalty to her. Without himself knowing, interactions with Mireya had him changing gradually; becoming less bloodthirsty and grew drawn to idea of gods as “parents of all living things” as it proves why they created imperfect humans from the first place. He is occasionally seen chasing after Chel for stealing valuables from temple. However, he is known as “Jaguar Man”, for he possess great level of dark magic and abilities of shaman, superhuman strengths as he has ability to control stone/living jaguars, even transforming himself into one.
