I try to use my pictures. When all copyrights belong to themselves, this is a big plus. But do not always get to do only my photos. Especially when you need models.
At all you can use for photomanipulation quite ordinary photos, you do not need for it to be a good photographer. Photo can be ugly on the composition, do not represent the artistic value. But from the pictures you can take a small piece, texture, twig, stone and another, and then combine in the new picture.

Ah that is a great tip. I found it also great to see you do a painting first. Maybe it would be more easy than working from a picture I have in my mind
