He can indeed be both!! I bet he got out a lot of twisted humor from watching Alex go insane, and the whole thing about messing with the cartridge could just be all one big prank, we won't ever know! Mostly because the creator hasn't given out such details so we can't say for sure how he's suppose to be

Exactly! I want some depth into BEN's character, all Alex has really told us is his canon name and that he was around Alex's age when BEN began haunting him. Besides the cult and Father, there's not much else. I'm so glad to find someone whom actually knows the story and not the whole "BEN's a perverted drug addict" thing fangirls pull.
