I'd say that he also needs to be a little red-skinned like artifical pigmentation or some genetic defect of the skin. also he was against all of the gods. In stargate he REALLY needed to be treated as a extremely evil villain and should have been even worse than Anubis.
I've often seen those "Was" scepters before and wondered if they should be some sort of extreme harakesh variant like a power weapon that (if you have naquadah in your blood) can enhance mental telekinesis. Nothing too overpowered but enough to make people who idin't understand the concept of technology masquerading as actual magick seem a bit more plausible.

I did like how the Staff-Weapon is shaped a little like the Staves that depicted Sutehk in Ancient Egypt...
