The Prince of Peace they called himYet peace was disturbed that day
Angry shouts and mocking echoed
As they carried him away
Not one reason of his guilt
Could be given to justify
They way they beat and tortured
While demanding "CRUCIFY!"
Man of sorrows, bearing my pain
So the whole world might have this gift
Innocent blood flowed for our sin
So God could repair the rift
Easter's meaning is so much deeper
Than eggs of brightly died tones
This day celebrates redemption
That is found in Christ alone
