April's vacation to Japan is not going as planned. It started out nice, once she checked into that seaside resort. She toured some of the nearby islands and villages. After emerging from a swim, she stumbled onto a group of smugglers and, as usual, got herself captured. At this particular abandoned village, there was a spot overlooking the ocean where the fishermen used to offer a sacrifice for good fishing. This was a long time ago, of course, but the stake was still there. So that's where they left her. Either she'd get herself out, or they'd have called the authorities to let them know where she was. After all, they were done and weren't coming back. They aren't murderers.
Shortly after they left, April heard a rumbling sound coming from the ocean, followed by some kind of loud roar. Godzilla had surfaced and was coming straight towards her.
