Jeweled Bracer - A bracer given to Ryker by Linxi when they were 8 years old. It was too big to fit him and she teased him about it a lot. So, Ryker vowed someday he'd be big enough to wear it.

Background:

Losing his mother at an early age, Ryker was raised mainly by his father. Living in Vercchana, his father made a living as a carpenter, work that Ryker himself admired and of course, wished to learn. Because of the lack of a motherly figure in his life, Ryker took to caring for the only girl in the house, his cousin, Linxi Silverstone, with utmost care, giving her pretty much anything she wanted... except any romantic interest in any other male (or female) human being. They did everything together-- from playing outside to catching bugs to showering (while they were still young of course--) . Most of his life was relatively uneventful, since beating up boys who either bullied or flirted with his cousin became routine.

One fine day, Linxi, now seveneen years old, decided that she wanted to explore a ship, and of course, dragged Ryker along with her. Boarding a random ship without consent, they were soon found out while exploring and were mistaken for stowaways (although the ship hadn't set sail yet). The two of them were pretty adept at fighting though, having more than their fair share of schoolyard scuffles, and managed to put up a fight. They caused quite a ruckus and attracted the attention of other people nearby-- one of them being Ran. Seeing their ability, she decided to help ease their problems in exchange for having them as part of her crew, which they both agreed to do.

Now, Ryker's ready to protect his cousin from whatever fate may throw at them-- or so he thinks. His cousin gets into more trouble than what's good for her, and while Ryker won't feel the slightest bit guilty about breaking the arms off suitors, there might be other kinds of obstacles in his way, and Linxi herself may give Ryker more trouble than he bargained for when she signed up to join the crew.
