lol Thanks for the amazing comment Bain! I'm really glad that you like this, and your comment really put a smile on my face
I put a lot of work into learning how to create the effect of hair, so it makes me super happy that you pointed that out.
Let me quick explain my imperfect technique to get a clean drawing (imperfect cause I haven't perfected it yet): First I start off using an H pencil creating a light trace of the drawing, erasing and re-drawing as much as I need to get everything the way I want . Once I am happy with the way everything looks, I create darker lines with an HB pencil over the initial sketch, making sure to use a bit of pressure so the lines will show up after erasing. I make the darker lines as neat as I can, since these will act as the skeleton for the next stage. Then, I erase everything. The light sketch done with the H pencil completely disappears, but the lines done with HB are still visible enough that I can easily trace them. After this, I use a 3B pencil for the line work. Once I am done with the 3B pencil, I use a 9B to darken anything I want darkened. Done! That's how I made the drawing look clean .

Woooo thats a lot of steps ^^'
How long does it take?
For me, I usually draw the initial sketch using my mechanical pencil
Then, I trace back the sketch with a.. uhhhh.. what do you call that? Pigment ink pen? :3
And right after I finish the tracing step, I erase everything
Btw I'm glad I can make you smile through my comments because I normally drive people insane IRL :3c

Woah, creepy, buuut...I LOVE HER! I've always liked the character of Pinkamena, and you were able to capture it perfectly: the constricted pupils that give her that crazy look, the very slim paws, the messy mane... I also love how you drew the ears, a little bit "crinkled" The small details around her eyes and the eyes themselves are what, in my opinion makes the difference, together with that crazy smirk of hers I see an evolution in the way you draw hair: not so long ago you were saying how you'd like to be able to draw it more realistically, without loosing the cartoony effect, and I think you managed to do so here! Her mane looks like it's ruffling in the wind and her tail looks very realistically laid on the ground
Really good job, you can be proud of yourself!
(are you planning on coloring her perhaps, sometime in the future? )

Hey no problem! I always try to write a comment as constructive as possible, if all I can say is "so cute" I feel like I haven't taken the time that I needed to analyze the drawing Ooh, I also listen to music when I draw, and I agree with you: it contributes to creating the right mood to draw something. For example, I've never been able to draw MLP characters while listening to metal, it just doesn't work (until now at least... maybe it would work if I were drawing Bulk Biceps though YYEEEEAAAAAAH! )
I believe the shoulder is perfect for the look you wanted to give her, and it doesn' look like it is dislocated It's pretty accurate considering we are talking about a very slim character, possibly even slimmer thank the regular Pinkie to symbolize her loss of control. Also, it's coherent with the placement of the scapular bone of a horse (which isn't as straight as the leg's bone, but it's a bit tilted towards the back of the horse, like in this pic 4.bp.blogspot.com/-oSkDn3ionfA… ) and it's also coherent with the fact that she's pushing against the floor with her front hooves, so the scapula becomes more evident I think you did a great job
Looking forward to that cute artwork of yours (You may have already submitted and I haven't seen it, I'm falling behind a lot on everyone's artworks If you have, sorry, I'll try to catch up as soon as my exam is gone )

Oh my, great job making her look crazy! I like her pose too, very well done. The only thing I noticed is that the nearest front leg (her right leg) looks a little strange where it connects to her shoulder. It looks a bit like she dislocated her shoulder. But otherwise it looks great! Her back legs look perfect!

If you intentionally exaggerated it to make the overall impression of your picture creepier then it definitely counts as a stylistic decision Like I said, it's a good picture and it definitely reads as creepy!

That's interesting! I never would have thought about whether a horse had a collarbone or not^^ I guess the extra muscle could help the horse with its running, maybe? Or maybe God just made horses that way so that they would be even more fascinating for us to look at^~^

Thanks! I think I see what you mean about the shoulders being dislocated (I think they both are if one is, right?). Thank you very much for telling me! I wouldn't have noticed it myself. I'll investigate a bit further and try to make sure I don't make the same mistake again.
