how do you colour the drawing when you scan your picture into the computer? because last time i tried (well i took the picture with my phone...) and i tried lots of stuff but it still either won't let me colour or it goes over the outlines..

First I clean the picture using Picasa or other program, then I color it setting the layer as linear burn with Photoshop.

I often set the layer as linear burn using more or less soft colors to color sketches like this.
