It's a beautiful work, I hope you receive the feedback it deserves !
I don't know what was the background before, but that one is perfect

Thank you so much!!!
The prior background was super busy with lots of sticks and leaves. It was pretty, but in the end we decided it would take away from the duck, and we wanted him to stand out with all his fancy fluff.

The duck stands out for sure !
It feels very frustrating when you put a lot of energy in a background and then realize it is disturbing your main subject... these times I would want to cut it out and keep the background on its own for another painting without main subject... but that's the deal with traditional art, you have to accept to rebuild on top of something that you like ^^

Yup! My art mentor has this mantra about "it's not watercolor". I.E. you can always paint on top of things and fix them. But yeah it's super frustrating when things don't work out. It's one of the many things I love about digital work. I can just delete layers haha.

Understandable. The detail is fantastic!
Our of curiosity, you tagged it as acrylic paint but submitted it under digital art. Is it mixed media?
