He's a fun little guy. the bug is a corn weevil, a huge one, they're actually quite small.

it's pretty subtle but that's not a bad thing for such a sneaky creature, I like subtle details, especially ones that really shift the viewer's understanding of the piece!

I'm not a big fan of corn either but I eat it. 
I think because I lost a baby-tooth on a cob when I was a kid.

My reason is mostly just taste, nothing traumatic. I did chip a tooth on a fork once, though. I still use those... very carefully.
