It was just like it had been before Austria . Lucas had heard his parents talk about a competition and decided he and one of the ponies simply had to enter. Cecilia said no and Aras said that when he was six years old he had already covered more miles on a horse than most people do during a liftime. "That's because most people aren't raised by nomads in Mongolia and I sincerely doubt your horse did anything else than following the tail of the horse in front of it, that doesn't make you a skilled horseman." Cecilia replied and added "No matter what discipline it takes quite a lot of practice and preparations and as far as I know you know nothing about it, perhaps in a few years". Again Aras and Lucas both put on the grumpy face of determination. Cecilia had a feeling she would be dragged out to the paddock a few days before the last day to register to witness her son just barely control the situation good enough to make her sigh and say yes. They had to pass Schleswig anyway on the way down to the Summer Pony Show in Romania. To stay a day or two extra in Germany wouldn't make a difference.

The preparations had gone smoothly. Lucas was able to lead Tunnan and keep the gelding at a a reasonable pace in both walk and trot. It was only half an hour left until it was time for the halter class to start now. Lucas had been sent to the bathroom by his parents and on his way there he passed some people chatting. He stopped. They noticed him and a young woman walked over to him. "Sprechen Sie Deutsch?" she asked him. Lucas stared at her. "English?" She then tried with. Lucas nodded, his father almost only spoke English with him. Something about compensating for bad language genes from his mother. She looked at his clothes and said "You're the boy with the bay pony aren't you?". A smile spread across Lucas' face and exitedly he said "Yes! Tunnmakar'n! He's a... aaa... um... Gotland Russ?". "I think the word you're looking for is Gotland pony. Is he good?" the young woman replied. "Oh, yes! We'll win the whole competition!" Lucas said with confidence. "Oh, is that so? I'm sorry to break this to you but you won't win a halter class with a bay pony gelding." She didn't look very sorry to Lucas, more like amused. Lucas felt how he was filled with anger and determination. He gave the young woman a glare, turned and walked with resolute steps towards the bathroom. The young woman and her friends followed him with an amused gaze. In the bathroom Lucas makes up a fool proof plan. He has to show the judges that Tunnan is the best. What's Tunnan good at? He knows that Tunnan used to participate in harness races. He trots very fast. If Lucas can show that Tunnan is the fastest horse they have to award him first prize. Fool-proof.

"What is he doing!? Is this your doing!?" Cecilia hisses to Aras as they both watch in horror how Lucas turns more and more red in the face from running faster and faster with Tunnan. Aras shakes his head and puts his hands around his mouth to shout. "Lucas! Slow down!".
