Description Mmmmm thestral....from Harry Potter! I had to paint one. It was just such a cool image in my head it had to be let out. Acrylics. I hate the wing though. It should diiiiiiie. Iono how to paint wings. At all. And because I'm still learning about scanners I wasn't sure what the best way to scan an acrylic was so it looks very texturey. And iono if this is too dark for a lot of people's screens. The actual pictures really dark though. The eye was fun to paint. And the fang. Mmmm fang....

Hm it is pretty dark, but I can make it out. Thestrals be so cool Great job on the head especially, the fang is like, fangish O.o Yeah but great anatomy, looks amazing I've never worked with acrylics, only oils once in a summer art class. I think acrylics sounds kinda harder since it dries faster. Maybe someday I'll know.

I dont understand how people paint small details. Maybe my brushes are just crappy.

I think I would like it better if I could actually see it. Maybe my monitor is too dark, but almost all I can really see is the texture of the canvasboard (or canvas?) - it way overpowers the dark details. :/ But from what I can see they look good.

Yeah that's the problem with the picture, it's a very very dark picture as it is and depending on diff people's monitors it looks different to everyone. It looks fine on mine but my friend can't see it well on his. T'is a bother indeed. And I couldnt figure out how to get rid of the canvassy texture in the scan.

This is positively gorgeous The shading is magnificent, and I -love- the wings. Very good effect overall, very nicely done.
