The Gerenuk (Litocranius walleri), also known as the Waller's Gazelle, is a long-necked species of antelope found in dry bushy shrub and steppe in East Africa. The word Gerenuk comes from the Somali, meaning β€œgiraffe-necked”, and leads to another common name, the Giraffe-necked Antelope. It is the only member of the genus Litocranius.

I was taking pictures of the sleeping lion when my friend turned around saw this gerenuk standing on the tree. I just had to take some pictures of the little guy!

I thought it looked a little prehistoric too! I think it's just cause it's so unusual looking, but at the same time, familiar looking.
