Based on a dream it took me nearly three months to finish this work. I was 16 back then and painting this image almost killed me

This is very good, but I personally think that there are too many things stuffed in the picture. Don't get me wrong, it's still very good, but a bit too loaded with stuff

Well, this is the result of my detail-bigotry. Back then I had the problem that I always used small brushes most of the time while painting on canvas this large (it's almost 1 meter height). XD I totally agree with you, it IS stuffed.

I use oil paints, it is my pref. Acrylics dry out to fast...I use PS7 for my digital portraits and some of my old horses, but now I am starting to draw in pencil again. it is easier for me to control a pencil than to draw digital with a laptop touchpad

Ouch, you use the touchpad!? O____O Well, I'm using my mouse, but I'm pretty sure a graphic tablet would feel like heaven. ^^ Too bad they are so expensive.
Pencils (and to me watercolours, too) are a nice alternation from everything else.

I had a tablet at one time and I didn't like it. I ended up giving it to a friend for her bday. I like my touchpad but I have to blow things up really big to get details.

As long as it works it's ok, I think. In the beginning I got cramps using my mouse while painting details or using the lasso tool. >_< But I have also improved my fine motor skills since then...
