Come to think of it, Claire Stanfield (the Rail Tracer) embodies both the human world and the monster world. As a matter of fact, with his attitude and acrobatic prowess (and a disguise), Claire could practically pass himself off as a vampire. Just so long as nobody asks him to change into a bat.

Last, I just noticed that Mavis is so different yet so alike to Chane. Both are brunettes who know so little about the world beyond thier families (albiet Chane is more stoic on that subject). They have a father who has lived for a long time, only while Mavis is just as "immortal" as Dracula, Chane doesn't have the luxury of sharing her dad's immortality. Plus, as a father, Dracula is everything Huey Lavoret isn't.

So true! ^_^ Chane seems a little less outwardly emotional than Mavis, though, and Claire is a little more bloodthirsty.

That's what I meant by "stoic", that Chane is more subtle than Mavis. Actually, another thing that sets Chane and Mavis apart: Chane is loyal and protective towards her Dad, almost like she's clinging to him like the little girl she is. Mavis, on the other hand, is willing to leave and see the world like any full grown woman (even though she loves her dad too).

And when you say Claire is a little more bloodthirsty, I say "my point exactly". That's what I meant when I said Claire could practically pass himself off as a vampire. If he were soaked in enough blood, he could comfortably stride into Hotel Transylvania, like he were Zeus taking his rightful place in Mt. Olympus.

And speaking of comparissions between this movie and anime shows, sometimes I wonder what would happen if they add a touch of that anime "Hellsing".

Would you suppose "Alucard" would have a daughter named "Sivam"? Unlike her "Hotel Transylvania" counterpart, she could be sassy, cool, venomous, dresses like a girly lolita, and distrusts humans. But her redeeming qualities are that she is merciful and fights fair with her opponents.

I don't know if I would recommend it. That all depends on your taste in anime, and your thresh-hold of how uncomfortable blood and violence makes you.

Blood and violence really don't bother me much. But yeah, its like how I wouldn't suggest Baccano to someone with a weaker stomach either.

Especially not to somebody who is bothered by seeing mauled immortals reconstruct themselves momentarily after being "killed".

If you stop and think about it, Chane is more-or-less the kind of daughter Dracula would've wanted. Someone who is capable of taking care of herself, someone who is defensive against strangers, someone who loves her Daddy like any child who has no other family.
Course, I don't think Dracula would trade off Mavis for any other daughter. To him, Chane could NEVER substitute Mavis, her free spirit, or especially the bond she shares with Dracula.
