I forgot its Chinese name
Anyhow, this is a work in progress. I'm posting this because... I won't be drawing again for a while, due to my crappy midterm design review and the mass of work needs to be redone.
Hopefully all will settle down soon and I'll be able to actulaly do what I want to do. Before that, though... RIP, my WIP

You may not remember the Chinese name, but the Greeks would call it an Elaphocentaur ('elaphos'= 'deer' +Centaur).

Wow. Very, very eye-catching! I have to agree with Melgramn; the colors could stay the way they are; everything is well-balanced as it is. Though I might have made the bracelettes a little smaller, and maybe gold or red on the girl's left hand so that the shirt is a little less out of place.
The anatomy in the picture is quite flattering, and I like the colors themselves. The actual style of the top really adds to the feel of it being Chinese, so I congratulate you on that! The flute is very pretty, and the tassle on it is a wonderful touch. And even if it's a simple background, good job on doing trees and the rock. (I always enjoy seeing those as I haven't really tried doing them and therefor can't do them well). The animal-human combination is a pretty neat idea, and the thought of a small Chinese girl with a deer body is a cute image in my mind--kudos to the deer anatomy, too!
Lastly, I love the head. The face is rounded slightly, the eyes are big, and the blush mark (I assume it is?) under her eye is adorable when with such small features. The ears make this picture so much different from others I've seen; the placement of the ears is good, and just the overall fact that they're a /deer's/ is just plain cute.
I would love to see more of your future work.

Very pretty character. Not one of these though, right? [link] I was looking through Chinese mythology trying to find something, but that was the only deer like one I found. It's the Kirin (Japanese) / Qi Lin (Mandarin) / Kei Lun (CantoneseοΌ which is a symbol of well being an good luck... I'd be really interested in what she is~ X3

Thanks! When I heard "deer person" I thought of the deer people in Warcraft, and then centaurs... can't help it, I'm a big fantasy nerd!
