Description One of the toughest portraits I have ever done. This was Lodewijks best friend, Eli, that suddenly passed away this summer. A shock to us all, specially his owner. So I wanted to paint his image but didn't have the right pictures for it and wanted it to be a surprise so couldn't ask her for help. But I worked it out form a few pictures and the great memories I have of him. It was a though challenge and an emotional one.
He was the greatest shetlandpony I have ever met and there will never be any like him.

Thank you , best tip I can give anyone is just to practice a lot, take a sketchbook to a place with horses and just draw them from real life. Knowing the anatomy is fundamental and a great way to learn that is to study real horses.

He is very very beautiful. I love your soft use of colours - how they mend together to form very beautiful atmosphere. He looks like he would be made out of silver. This is very simple but yet so very beautiful. I just love your work. You have great sence of colors and you create a certain kind of feeling into your art very beautifully. Just love your work.
