I made a Pottermore account a couple days ago, and made Genta8 want to join too :3SOMEHOW, he got sorted into Slytherin (like everyone else I know, apparently). I responded "HOW DID YOU GET INTO SLYTHERIN? YOU'RE ABOUT AS AMBITIOUS AS A BUCKET OF WATER!". Eventually realized that he may not set high goals, but he is ambitious in... weird ways (ambitiously non-ambitious?) =u=; I don't believe all Slytherin are stuck up, but you can get that vibe from many of them.
Meanwhile I was stuck in the cuddle-hug house because my best qualities are THE POWER OF FRENDSHAP (or something) A lot of people go into the common room and complain like "No! I hate Hufflepuff!" or "I don't want Hufflepuff D:" or "NOOO, I should be in GRYFFINDOR!" (Maybe if Rowling had more important characters from the Hufflepuff house in her series, there wouldn't be so many people looking down on it? *shrug* )
Hufflepuffs are generally passive, and many people sorted into it are unhappy about their house, so there's not a lot of competitive motivation among us : P

I'm a Slytherin, but Huffle is definitive my second favorite of the houses (and if I wouldn't have been a snake I'd probably be a badger

Nah, I actually feel happy with it, I realize. I took the test again 3 years later and got Ravenclaw and was all "Oh no, I'm not in Hufflepuff anymore! ;A;"

Hufflepuff really truly rocks!
JK Rowling has a huge soft spot for hufflepuff. She didn't put many important characters in it BECAUSE it's so awesome!
Example of what I mean-
Draco: Example of Bad Decisions. Slytherin
Cho: Example of Pretty Girl who overthought a relationship. Ended in a breakup. Ravenclaw
Neville: Story of imperfect shy guy goes brave. Gryffindor.
I mean, almost all these characters have something to learn, or have the readers learn from.
But, if we look at the Hufflepuffs, nearly always perfect.
Cedric: Example of Fairness, despite all. Even Death. He could've ducked and covered, yelling "Harry's the one you want" but he didn't. His ghost never said "Dude, this is all your fault. Thanks a lot." He said "Bring my body back to my dad. That is important to him". Not even in death did he think about himself. Even the Gardener's ghost was like "Kill that Killer!" But Cedric didn't even show hatred to Voldemort during his last words.
Tonks: Example of Non-Discrimination and Love
Adromeda: Example of Non-Discrimination and Love (I think she was a puff)
Justin+Puffs: Example of Loyalty and protection above what others think, and humble apology when they see the truth. (I think When Earnie Apologizes to Harry, that was a VERY strong thing to do, and It's overlooked.)
Humble, Love, and Acceptance. Most of them are perfect.

Well, I may be a firm believer that no mortal human is perfect, but I see your point! The more noble deeds were easy to miss! Perhaps J.K. Rowling had very few important roles in Hufflepuff for that reason?
Actually, I remember reading something recently explaining that the house you are sorted in isn't exactly your biggest quality so much as it is the quality you find most important. I don't actually know how true that is (guess I'm not hardcore enough of a fan to research it myself XD), but it does make a lot of sense. Perhaps people that see how important it is to be kind strive hardest to reach that. I think a good example would be Wormtail, who was still in Gryffindor, despite the fact that he was a slimy coward. He probably still wanted to be bold despite his lack of it. (though I guess he had to have some bravery in him to cut his hand off? Ouch!)

I'm in Slytherin
I didn't really WANT any particular house~ But I was expecting Gryffindor cause I didn't really fit any of the others, exept maybe Ravenclaw. But the Slytherins are really nice and welcoming >w< And the common room and dorms are UNDER THE LAKE!~ xD So awesome.
But I'm enjoying it and starting to think I do have some of the traits...

Also Gryffindor is starting to sound snobby cause they have the boy who lived and are beating us by a couple of thousand points >A< Damn them!~

It does sound awesome to be under a lake! c: And there's an awful lot of friendly slytherins, despite so much of them being bad eggs on Harry Potter XD
Maybe they feel cooler than everyone else because they had all of the main characters oAO (you guys keep going back and forth on the points thing everytime I peek at the scores)

And yeah, I kinda expected it to be between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor because so many people ignore their accounts if they're sorted into on of the others, but apparently us snakes are keeping up. :3
But they're always beating us by like 3000 points! Always! And then we go up, but then they go up! D:< Nraah!

I think it's part of the slytherin personality. Snakes are supposed to be ambitious and enjoy winning, and Gryphandors also like to throw themselves up front themselves, while Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs are slightly more neutral...well, Hufflepuffs, at least o_o We're by the kitchens. We don't have many competitive spirits. We have cupcakes! XD

YES BE PROUD OF BEING A HUFFLEPUFF I also wish there were more important Hufflepuffs in the series ;-;/ when i first got sorted in, i was so confused because everyone tells me i'd be ravenclaw, but i can totally see myself as hufflepuff now xD i wish i could earn more points for our house, but i'm so afraid i'll cause more harm than good and end up losing points ><

They really are like underdogs XD I used to take a lot of quizzes, and out of about 10 of them, 1 put me in Gryffindor, 2 in Hufflepuff, and the other 7 all stuck me in Ravenclaw. I guess Pottermore is picker about details! Hmm...well there's no necessity in earning points. And you can still help out by sending people potion ingredients and such.

Someone in the common room said that maybe there're some Puffs who lose house points on purpose just because the don't like being Hufflepuffs. And I do believe so because, man, we are way behind in the house point although we are the 2nd biggest house in members! D:
