Having a 5 second memory is hardly the point, it's not them remembering the environment, it's them BEING in the environment. If you think that "oh it just has a 5 sec memory lolol" is a reason not to provide it a good home, then you shouldn't be owning pets...
This article has some facts as to why they shouldn't live in a bowl or a "mini aquarium": [link] Here is an exerpt:
Goldfish:
- They can grow extremely old (12 years+) and extremely large (30cm or 12 inches)
- They produce A LOT of waste. Some owners I know have TWO filters to keep up with them, along with changing the water
- They require A LOT of space. Man-made outdoor ponds are the ideal, but generally 1 goldfish needs 110 Litres or 30 Gallons, then an extra 40 Litres or 10 Gallons per additional goldfish. Different species have different needs, this is a VERY general guide.
- They require A LOT of oxygen. Many proper goldfish tanks have several bubblers and bubble wands to properly oxygenate the water
- THEY DO NOT BELONG IN BOWLS. If you were to look at the above tips, bowls break all of the above rules.
- Goldfish generally should not be housed with any other type of fish (except other goldfish): They are coldwater fish, and most other fish you see at pet stores are tropical, requiring warmer water. Also, since goldfish produce a lot of waste, other fish will suffer in the presence of extra waste in the water.

Your first point: The fact that when I simply present facts to you, your first implication was to get angry completely negates the fact that you claim to have "a life" and I apparently don't. If anything it is probably the other way around if anger is the only way in which you can react.
Your second point: Relax? I was relaxed, I was not going to throw a fit over a photograph. I was simply giving you some information on how you can make your allegedly beloved pet live a longer, healthier and therefore happier life.
Your third point(s):
- The difference between a person's house, and an aquatic animal's house is that you, as a human being, can take care of yourself. An animal that is in a bowl relies on YOU to keep it healthy.
- I don't even know what you are talking about with a "social cycle". If you mean social life, my social life is very active, thanks.
- You, as well as I, both have nicknames as a part of this website. I don't have a "non-name" nickname to purposely go around trolling people. I just do it so crazy idiots on the internet will not know my real name in protection from identity theft. Back when I created this name, internet security was not the best so I, along with others, had to be extra careful. I don't see the reason for bringing this up, to be honest.
- Yes, I eat meat, and I eat fish, and I've even eaten dog before. That is no excuse to treat the animal poorly that you own as a pet. Livestock and pets are different. The cost to run an enormous livestock farm with pampered cows is idiotic, so of course they live in "acceptable" conditions.
- I'm not going to ask if you are vegan or vegetarian, but when a cow is killed, it has MANY uses, including certain parts of it in medicine that you get over the counter, so even as a vegan or vegetarian, unless you're using some hardcore herbal drugs (that have been grown in fertilizer from cows by the way), I don't think this point makes me some sort of animal hater and you are some sort of intense animal lover.
- Omelettes are made from unfertilized chicken eggs. You're not eating baby birds, you're eating the solidified version of a chicken's PERIOD/menstruation/whatever.
- You and I both own more things than you know from your "poor" countries. There are VERY few if not NO items that you currently own that are TOTALLY made in a "rich" country. Your computer may have been made and assembled in the US or Canada or the UK, but where do you think the capacitors on your motherboard are made? Did you check? Do you even know what a capacitor is? Just because we're talking about fish doesn't mean I don't care about things like this. How could you possibly deduce that from our previous conversation?
You're the person who needs to really broaden their mind and not just fly off the handle when somebody gives you a little advice. Don't think that just because you can list off a bunch of bullshit "facts" to make you appear smarter than another person makes you look like a better person. You take photographs, guess where your camera was made? As the last point, I'm going to play the game I PIRATED FOR FREE while wearing a set of pyjamas that I SEWED MYSELF.
I don't think 20-30 years is long enough for you. Salutations from your brain on permanent holiday.
