The assignment for character design this week was to draw two characters: one that portrayed our best trait, and one that portrayed our worst.This was my worst trait one: shyness! I actually kind of liked how this one came out, and it went over much better in class than my good trait did. (of course I spent like twenty minutes on this one and like three hours on the other, so that makes sense in a weird not-making-sense way XD)

It's probably because it's more free, and more you. The other one becomes more restricted.

I can totally see why this one played better. It's just a simpler, more succinct design. I totally sympathize with the inverse exchange of work to kudos

Yea, after this last class I think I'm starting to understand what makes a successful design...Shanth brought in a Julie Taymor book and it simultaneously BLEW MY MIND and helped me get it.
Glad you like bird boy too! I already have like a thousand new comic ideas for all these characters, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

Kind of reminds me of myself when I was in school. I used to wear my hair down all the time and hide behind it when I felt the need to.
