Description I drew this in PSE6 with a Wacom pen tablet!! It took me a week to draw Elphaba, and a little over an hour to draw the table and book stand, so sorry about the big difference in quality. I really only cared about Elphie, but she didn't look all that great on a big blank canvas.
Her dress didn't come out exactly the way I would have liked. I did use black in the dress, but I tried to stay away from too much black and have her dress be a mix of very dark reds, greens, blues and purples. Well, let me know what you think! I'll be trying to do some more Wicked stuff soon!

Anyway for those that don't know, Elphaba is from Broadways Wicked! My favorite musical ever! Wicked it based on Gregory Maguires book, "Wicked, the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West". Also a fav. of mine!!!

That's cool. I'm about 45 minute drive from Tampa. I used to live in CA, but Florida is so much nicer!

There are some really nice places to visit in CA. But the thing is if you want to acutally live there you need to be rich enough to live in a nice place. All the nice places to live are really expensive, I just lived in a little farming community. That's what most of CA is, farms and fields.

It's called "Wicked: The life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire. It's the story of the Wicked Witch from the time she was born until Dorothy goes to Oz and...well...we all know what happens then. But it's a really great story that puts an adult spin on the fairy tale! Some parts are so funny! A major part of the story deals with Elphaba (wicked witch) while she is in college and guess who her room mate is?? Glinda! The whole point of the story is what is the nature of evil? Are people born evil or do they become evil, and is anyone ever Truly evil or are they just misunderstood? Here is a link if you want to read some book reviews. [link]
The broadway musical WICKED is based on this book, but it's NOTHING like the book. The musical and book are both great, but they can hold their own and should really be treated like two seperate experiances.
You can go here if you want to see a trailer for the Broadway show! [link]

Oh I know just what you mean! lol I read like crazy, but I've been spending most of my free time on DA and at FF too! Right now I'm reading Stephen Kings Dark Tower (book 7) but I should be done and I'm only about 1/4 of the way through since I'm on here so much. I'm turning into a photoshop addict!

Great job! I just finished reading that book. It was a little slow going at first but once it switched over to their college years I really started enjoying it. Good read! I can't wait to read the follow up to the this book. Son of A Witch.

I loved the book so much! It wasn't slow for me at all, but I was a huge Oz fan since I was a little girl, so I actually got into the whole "Ozian politics and social structure" stuff in the beginning. The 2nd book is great, you're going to love it!! And if you ever get a chance to see the musical you should go, it's wonderful! It has the same basic idea, but it's so different from the book. I love them both!
