Not bad at all. One critique I would have, though, is that personally speaking, it could use a bit more variation in line weight to help build depth throughout the image. It strikes me as possibly being inked with a technical pen of some kind, which again is a personal choice so it's not a "wrong" or "right" thing, but with the kind of precision you display here, I would love to see what you would do with brushes or traditional quills and mapping tips. The lines you have are super precise and very clean, though, which means that maybe the thin line approach is what you're going for and if so, it's dead on. I know it's not the usual "great job" comments people give on art sites, but hopefully you'll take it as thoughtful and respectful. I can see that you have some very solid skills here and it would just be great to watch that expand and grow. -Les

I have used technical pens, brushes, quills and other such things when I was living in the States. If you look at my other inked work that is not comic work you will see that it is different than what I am doing right now. The biggest difference now is that I am living in China and I have a lot of limitations as to finding paper, pens and other such things since I am not living in a city that doesn't have many artistic centers around. I am trying to work with these limitations and doing well but it is still frustrating. On this piece in particular I was struggling with things on it and thinking through it I wasn't sure what to do because the artist's lines were simple and not much to do with it. I was thinking of another variation on this piece but decided against it because other artists who are going to color this piece may need it simple like this one. I want thin lines to look exact and precise but not have too many problems. So yes I agree with you completely on what you say and I am trying to change things on each piece but living with these limitations is cramping my style at least I think this. I have found that working with these limitations has actually helped me in a huge way because now I can fine tune my skills and discover where my problems are in this kind of art field so that I can really change things in how I think about art and overcome all the hurdles that are set before me. Plus by doing this I can learn from my mistakes faster than not knowing what they are until some time down the road.
