Description A century and a half ago, the land around what is now Fort Davis, Texas was wild and unclaimed. Apache Mescaleros raided settlements in the area regularly. Sitting atop those mountains today it is possible to imagine the world as it must have seemed to those warriors: threatened and shrinking.

Fort Davis State Park, Texas.

Canon S3 IS with infrared filter.

Hey awesome view. The infrared filter really cuts out some of the noise/glare you can get when taking pictures in that area.

Yeah, I was happy with how those came out, considering I slapped the IR filter on as an afterthought as I was getting ready to head back in.

I'll have to look into getting one of those before my California trip this summer.
