Description A mallard hen coming into land.

Somthing a bit different - The weather was severely bad and overcast and I had to over expose the shot to bring out the details in the duck. The water was still quite visible but I decided to push my luck and completley blow the water white during post processing rather than leaving distracting ripples under it (altough there wern't many and they weren't distracting!)

I definitely like the look with the water blown out, but there seems to be a tad bit of water surrounding the duck that has yet to be "blown". While it's not really noticeable at first, I found it to be quite distracting upon a closer look. Hope this helps.

Otherwise, I really like this shot. The minimalisticness of the duck in the land of white gives it a mysterious look to me, and the rule of thirds really makes the picture.

Keep up the good work mate!

Perfect! I love mallards.
There were a lot of them in northern Virginia where I grew up.

So cool! Somehow I get the feeling, you've taken this duck from an old, very expensive car and just put it against a white sky... Awesome
