No, I don't have the high res image anymore. It wouldn't print very well.

I love how it's swimming out of a nebula.  I've had a couple dreams of sea creatures swimming in the sky. Wish I had more of those...

Ooh, I like. Reminds me of Fantasia 2000: this is what would happen if "Rite of Spring" met "Pines of Rome"!

Gorgeous. Reminds me of those old notebook folders with various big cats and other animals with space themes. Yum yum! I miss work like that. This made my night!

*gasp* wow...this is so GORGEOUS. The dark, cool blues of space and the sheer vastness of the setting really send shivers (the good kind) down my spine. ^_^

Wow, if I didn't know this was a space setting, I would've mistaken it for the ocean.

It's that awesome.

Wonderful wonderful job here.

Is this your way of saying "In your face, Lassen"? XP It's pretty cool, nonetheless. Though I think maybe the ripple reflections on its back should be softened somehow. I thought they were stripes at first, honestly.

Who is Lassen?

walnutsage In reply to NetRaptor [2009-11-14 03:05:36 +0000 UTC]

Christian Riese Lassen (I think that's how its spelled). He's one of those guys who paints dolphins in space. Pretty popular. Or at least he was when I was in high school. ^_^;

Oh yeah, that's what I was going for. I asked about that style on my DA journal a few weeks or months ago, I just didn't know the name of the artist.

I was trying out that style as best as I could from memory. I just don't think I used enough purple.

XD To me, mosasaurs are some of the most beautiful of the ancient sea dwelling creatures.

I really love how the top of this is all watery, but it fades DOWN to space. Normally it's the other way around, so it's nice to see a break in cliches!

This is totally going up as my new desktop.

Oh wow, mosasaurs don't like out of place in space. Try having a pliosaur come out from behind it and chomping on it

O.o! At first I thought it was a Whale in the water... than I thought it looked like a lizard genie... than I read your comment. Lol!

Excellent work mate! I especially love how you did the cloud effect around the stars! And the lighting too!
