Description First PokΓ©mon thing in over three months.

What if Treecko had been introduced in the 2nd generation of PokΓ©mon games, Gold, Silver and Crystal?

I'd love to make more, but I find 8-bit difficult to work in. We'll see.

EDIT: Thanks to tSR I got some great tips and managed to get it to look a lot better. I guess the RSE reference picture was better than DPPt, after all.

Where can I find the sprites used in the sparkles on the shiny animation? I've been needing to know for a while.

Have you tried The Spriters Resource? I actually ripped the sparkle effect myself and submitted it there.

As long as credit is given, I guess it's alright.

Totally awesome! I loved these games so much. It's amazing how good this looks with so few colors.

I like the "old school" quality apply to Treecko. (Myself I am a huge Gold and Silver fan...) if pokemon was to start over....this would been nice addition to the old 8 bit game.XD

That's awesome! Exactly what a Treeko would look like in GSC!

It is a little big, though.

Most sprites were pretty big in GSC, but I'll admit it's a little too big. I'm used to making sprites bigger than this.

Thanks. It was really hard to make this, as I had to shrink my lineart quite a bit to fit into the 56x56 limit.

Also oddly, even small PokΓ©mon used to have pretty big sprites in the old games, some even bigger than in the current 4th generation (and it allows higher-resolution sprites mind you). I guess that's a part of the nostalgia of the old sprites, today.
