`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil!By that Heaven that bends above us - by that God we both adore -
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden, whom the angels named Lenore?'

I rather enjoyed working on this piece in which, part of the details I kept from the poem (Lenore's portrait, the raven's eyes that "have all the seeming of a demon" and so on) and I've added some of my own (such as the raven poking out the narrator's eye). But anyway, this is one of my favorite poems up to date and I hope you like this piece as much as I do.

Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite poets, and "The Raven" is such a fantastic poem. It also inspired a wonderful piece of artwork. I love the raven's eyes, and the fact that it plucked out an eyeball is very Poe-esque. Great job!
