Green, Blue, and Red from Pokemon Gen I. The rival character goes by "Blue" in the English versions, but I'm really used to calling him Green so I'm just going to do that hahaha.I haven't drawn anime for a while... when I started, it just came out like this aha. It looks really different from my usual work;;.

I always called the rival Green and the girl Blue, too. Red will always be Red.

this is indeed quite epic..
I heard a 7 year old kid playing one of the Jhoto remakes at Great Clips today.. It made me happy, but at the same time, I was kinda sad, because he probably thought it was a brand new game.. It reminded me of the good ol days when I was his age and played on (almost) a brick with a screen, and was happy to get the pixelated outlines I had..

About the names, I've read somewhere that the names have changed because in Japan, there were games Red, Green and Blue, and in the rest of the world only Red and Blue, so in the rest of the world the rival is Blue, while his Japanese name (his real name, so to say) is Green

I'm such a geek for knowing this, but ao or aoi I think means both green and blue o.o; in Japanese, I mean, so I'm not confusing anyone >.> And it can be a name, so that would be where the translation comes from .-. (Everything I'm saying about this is a guess cuz I never finished my old pokemon games and I have no idea what you're talking about xD )

I don't really understand either why they call Green Blue. =/ A REALLY bad mistranslation perhaps? I dunno. I wish they had put these guys into the anime instead of Ash, Misty, and Brock though =[ Might have made the whole show much cooler.

This is true, but they have brought ash + co over to manga side stories. But I also herd they might stop Pokemon Special due to the company that worked with it going under (for one reason or another) =[

Well, I also don't think PokeSpe is what it used to be. I mean, it used to be more serious and now it's almost as if a couple of kids are on a fieldtrip and goofing around... So I don't know what to say.

Yeah, you could say that about a lot of things today. =/ Though it doesn't exactly attribute to the story side of the adventures (Anime & Manga), the LISTS of legendaries Nintendo always make for each gen usually defined the story. Plus now that Nintendo's exhausted their resources to where it's no longer unique with each new rarity? It makes me kind of sad. Then the new gen is about to come out...
