Hans emerged from the bathroom, stretching his arms and spine. His hair all fresh and still a little wet from the shower. Rubbing his eyes behind his glasses, he stepped into the bedroom, just to find an unfamiliar figure laying on his bed. Unfamiliar for he wasn´t used to seeing these curves on his stateless bed. These feminine, soft but still strong curves. Hearing her quiet breathing, even with her side rising and lowering. Hans could feel soft warmness creep on his cheeks. He didn´t know what to do. He took a long look at the couch. It looked uncomfortable. Scratching his chin, he took a few careful steps closer to the bed. He stood still for a while, planning things through. He needed to get in bed and under the blanket without waking this enchanting creature that was laying just two feet away from him. Gulping down the knot in his throat, he slipped one leg in…

…and nothing. The rustle of the covers must not have been as upsetting as he thought they might have been as he gingerly laid his weight next to the sleeping woman. He carefully lifted his other leg and slid it beneath the covers, finally lowering himself onto the welcoming pillow below. Hans scooted himself down, attempting to find a more comfortable position, when the figure beside him shifted. He froze in mid-movement as she nuzzled her body into the mattress. When she stopped, Hans let out a breath he was unaware was being held. He finally found a position of his own that was comfortable enough, and closed his eyes. A few minutes passed, and Hans felt himself slipping into slumber. Just as he was sure he was falling asleep, a limb snaked its way across his chest and his heart jumped a beat. He looked over and, sure enough, the woman beside him had flipped to her other side and rested her arm across him. He hadn’t even felt her moving around. His body stayed absolutely still, unsure of what to do…
He watched her for a moment longer, and his tension began ebbing away. She had dug her other arm beneath her pillow, and her breathing moved a wayward strand of hair that had fallen over her eyes. Her shoulders moved slightly, and the hand on Hans’ chest tightened. Feeling the unfamiliar fabric made her eyes flutter, and Hans’ tension flooded over him once more. The woman’s head rose, revealing the face of BLU’s resident female Engineer, Nina. Her eyes weren’t even half open, but she recognized the man laying beside her and smiled.

“Hans,” she mumbled. “When’d you climb into bed, sugah?”

Oh, there it was. That American southern drawl mixed with her soft, feminine voice that absolutely made the German medic melt to his core. And to hear it as she was just being roused from sleep made that flush return to his cheeks anew.

“I’m sorry, Liebe, did I vake you?” he half-whispered, brushing the hair from her face.

“‘course not, honey. But, mm…”

She took in a whiff.

“You sure smell nice. Did you get all clean while I was sleepin’?”

“Ja, I did.”

Nina made a face that wrinkled her nose, and Hans let out a soft chuckle. At this, she propped herself on an elbow and the strap from her tanktop slid dangerously low on her arm, and she gave him the best mock-glare she could manage. But Hans was more focused on the fact that the left side of her shirt was half-revealing the soft flesh beneath, and he let out a shaky breath. Nina connected the dots, and in an instant was fully awake and grinning mischeviously at her bedfellow.

“Cat gotcher tongue, cowboy?”

She giggled.

“Or d’you wanna hop on in the rodeo one more time?”
