Sorry, I took so long.I'm not on here quite as often as I like :/
I'm glad you liked it! I really didn't do anything out of the ordinary here, I used black drawing paper and white charcoal and some chalk and oil pastels. I needed a wide range of whites and some materials have more values to them. Sooo...um...Don't be afraid to mix media! and since I used white on black, I started light and built up and layered the different values. though I did have an eraser and a black charcoal just incase of mistakes 
Hmm...I did it so long ago I can't remember much else...

Very nice work! Actually I liked your whole gallery, but since I was trying to pick the one I liked best it would be the owls and the dragon/flower. Keep up the good work!
