spectacular! i love it.

She was a beautiful ship in her day, it was sad how she ended, but in some ways better then being scrapped I guess.

The "American Star" has now completely slipped beneath the Atlantic off Fuerteventura; you can still see her on Google Earth and the rusty stain where she's disentegrating;

Are you use something to fix the rusty on the steel? like matt varnish or something... i just have no idea what to use

I used to use matt varnish like u said and in the short term gave decent results.. but just last week i discovered that there is variety of damage to the paintings [they have been locked up for 2 years nao(long story)]

there is lots of color change towards red, the yellows of the rust have mostly been eliminated.. also the darker rust [due to machine oil covering the sheet originally] have diffused into the varnish layer over time (it wasnt like that for the first couple of months)
Im looking for a better freeze actually- any suggestions dude? we do have similar taste and probably similar problems.. i am looking into epoxy lately but digital stuff has been taking way too much time for proper tests.. will inform if positive
anyway

good luck and take care

Yeahm the epoxy sound good, its repaintable and enough strong for the couating and you still get the rusty feeling.would be good if i know it earlier. I just used to use the epoxy for a lot of things but i never think that it is good for the coating. uhm.. so simple.
What i wanted to ask from you i see you use this 'tar' think a lot.. maybe my translation is wrong but it is not the thing what made from crude oil? Just if it is than i have a bad new, coz your paintings after a while will turn black. Everything what made from crudeoil eat the colors, but there are some other colors which are do the same.
Uh nothin other shrwdness i have now... and sorry for the slow reply

i really do hate it when maritime icons are left to waste away. tis a shame, but she'll always be remembered, so i guess she'll sail on forever in a way. great piece, it's so beautiful and haunting.
