It had passed months, days, years even since the beloved Queen Uru took the throne and gave birth to her three children: Mufasa, the oldest, Takasa, the middle one, and Mchanga, the youngest.
As her cubs grew, she got older, until one day, it seemed like her aging would be fatal… Uru didn’t remember who her own son was.

Takasa stepped out of Priderock’s big den. He stretched, and jumped down the rocks, making his way into the soft grass. Upon hearing the noise of nearby steps, he acquired the presence of his mother, Uru.
— Mother! There you are. — Takasa greeted Her Majesty. — I hadn’t seen you inside the den, I was worried. — He said.
The Queen gave her son a weird stare, Takasa returned with a confused look. Uru smiled. — Oh! Thank you for the introduction, kind stranger. — She chuckled. — I… I do not exactly know who you are. You’re probably confusing me with someone else, I’m not your mother. —
Once the shocking words came out of his mother’s mouth, Takasa’s mouth completely dropped. — What? — He said, worried. The lion lashed his tail as a quick response. — What?! What do you mean? —
Uru backed off a little upon seeing Takasa’s desperation. — U-Um… — Uru pinned her ears. — You look a little… desperate. I recommend you go into the young Mjuzi’s tree. — She gave a friendly smile.
Takasa’s eyes widened. ‘Young’? Did she mean Rafiki? How could she remember that ugly old monkey other than her own son! Takasa growled, conflicted. The young lion’s small mane flashed into the air’s cold breeze. He instantly dashed off without saying a word.

Takasa was worried… He ran, and ran. He went on the search to find anyone, he wanted to find his Uncle, his Father, his Sister, even Mufasa. He needed help… and Her Majesty also did.

Uru develops dementia in my headcanon. She’s still alive when Scar returns to Priderock with Zira, but barely.
I find it a interesting concept!
