i'm not among those who think the became shit now.. i preety much like theyr'e new stuff too... the music is primitive, the lyrics are banal - but they still have something in the atmosphere that no other band has.

I don't like new Mayhem, because I think, they should not use name "Mayhem" after Euronymous death.
I don't like music on "The great declaration of war" - and after that album I don't feel atmosphere of Mayhem on new albums.

well, alot of mayhem's old stuff was actually composed also by necrobutcher, so he theoretically has rights on it... besides, what they actually "invented" and did unique, was also the drumming, and the drummer is the same. and the vocalists were also in "old mayhem".. allthough i think maniac sucks.

No one from today "Mayhem" was in band all the time. So, I think, Vikernes and Manheim can re-split under name "Mayhem" too, because they are former members too.
But this isn't important. Important is, that Euronymous's personality was what did Mayhem so charakteristic, specific. That is why I can hear demos like "Voice of tortured skull" or material on "In memorium". In music like that atmosphere is more important than music themself, and without Euronymous I don't feel this atmosphere.

i agree that euronymous was in a way the "soul" behind mayhem.. and about virkenes.. i dont give a fuck if he dies and rotts while crows eat the body of this nazi scum..
