h-he's still 25, i'm not late at all!I've been working on this for around a month now? IDK, but I think it highlights what a slow artist I am lol
Anyways, on to Kirby! I adore this series (if it wasn't immediately obvious), and I've been in love with it since I played Super Star Ultra in 2010. I loved the gameplay and all the different copy abilities, I loved how there were several different scenarios to go through each with their own spin on the gameplay, I loved the sprites, music, character designs and literally everything else. This game - and series - inspired me to draw way more than I had already been doing, and I'm even attempting to learn Japanese to get into that side of the fandom and enjoy all those sweet sweet light novels and manga
So yeah, I played SSU, and within three months I had played a vast majority of the series (the only one I haven't played to this date that comes to mind is Kirby Air Ride, and I'm still waiting for some kind of Gamecube Virtual Console shenanigans to happen). Thankfully the series has near constantly been above average. I suppose my favourite games so far are the ones directed by Kumazaki, though I have a special spot in my heart for K64 - I can't not smile when playing it! ...Though, if I had a small wish, it would be for Kumazaki to lay ever so slightly off the 'villains with depressing backstories' trope, not that I don't enjoy it but it's starting to get a little overplayed.
also I am hyped as hell for this fighting action game coming out this holiday, if Magolor is a playable character I will main him come at me skrubs

I haven't seen his episode, I hear a lot of people like him though so maybe I should give it a watch! I've kinda got a love-hate thing going on with Escargon in particular - I think he's hilarious, but I can't stand what they had to do to Dedede's character in order to fit him in ;-;

Such a beautiful celebration art! Such a good collection of characters! I agree on the sad villains thing. I love my sad villains to death (Suz, Tara, Drawci, even sworddarkmatter) but I only have so much sympathy if someone new shows up. I like that they have more character than the bigger big baddies (darkmind, necrodeous, ect.) but a mix of bad and rememberable have been accomplished before (Marx, Mago.) Stunning work.

Yeah, thinking about it Kirby villains seem to have either no characterisation (Dark Nebula, Necrodeus, even Drawcia and Marx to some extent) or characterisation leaning towards the depressing. The latter seem to be cropping up in Kumazaki's games (though I think there's some canon info somewhere that says Dark Matter Swordsman attacked Pop Star because it wanted friendship but thought no one would accept it, idk). I appreciate more characterisation - hell, Taranza is one of my favourite characters - but I want more asshat villains who do evil for funsies, like Magolor.

He pretty much had his soul deleted, I don't think even Star Dream could just ctrl-z him back into existence. And as for his body, who know whether it's still around after Star Dream's destruction
