First (second half of the first) Illustration assignment of the semester. (First half: [link] )Prompt: Illustrate your zodiac (Taurus) incorporated with your Chinese zodiac (Ok so, I'm actually the ram, but she said I could do a dragon since it's the year of the dragon).
The East points upward, and the West is awakened before an enormous landscape. He is humbled by the awe of nature, and is overwhelmed by the realization that man is inferior to it. He will understand that it is pivotal to see past one's self, and learn to appreciate this world we take part in.
It's the year of the dragon guys! Hoo-rah!

I love it. The scenery doesen't look like a simple background at all, it rather seems to embrace the characters andd the viewer too, surounding them and showing the grace in its seemingly simple design.

So, GRADIENT. I like that, you know, gradual ebb from dark to light, like a sequential sunrise that isn't actually visually sequential. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? Also, always going to be in love with those beautiful Chinese mountains that you draw so well.

Not too bad. I've finally decided on my major (Psychology) and spent my winter term working on a JRPG based on the hall I live in. It was really fun. This term is going to be tough, but I think I'm going to make it.
