One thing I don't think many fans realized:Β The contest in "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" mirrored the contest in the Disney adaptation of Paul Bunyan.Β Both pitted modern technology against old-fashioned manual labor.Β In Paul Bunyan, it was a steam-powered chainsaw versus Paul's ax.Β In SSCS6000, it was the magic-powered, steam-powered cider press versus the manual (equestrial?) labor of 9 ponies.Β The tree-cutting contest was determined as to who had the tallest pile of timber; the cider contest was by the most number of barrels.Β In both cases the antagonist won, but whereas Paul left town, the Apple family almost did, until it was realized the Flim-Flam Brothers' cider tasted like shit.
