Description Assalaamu alaikum [Peace be to you],

The most popular drawing in my gallery is the "Peaceful Loving Sisters" (Flash artworks are not included). I received great feedback about it and many people liked it. so I decided to draw more about interfaith and Islam with other religions.

today I brought to you, my dear friends, an article that explains how Muslims should establish an interfaith Dialog. I hope it's beneficial for both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Allah [God] said in the holy Qur'an:
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)."

[the holy Qur'an - Translation of 49:13]

Allah almighty has made people different. That was His choice. It wasn't a mistake, but part of His plan.
Muslims are not called to judge anyone. Nor are they given the authority to judge anyone to go to heaven or hell. That is for Allah alone. If He tells us, then, that He made us into nations and tribes as part of His plan for mankind, and that His reason for doing this was so we might get to know each other, it seems pretty clear that we should get on quite well with those who are different to us.

Many non-Muslims are under the impression that Muslims are close-minded and unwilling to engage in discussion with people of other faiths. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Qur'an offers very clear guidelines and encouragement for Muslims to engage in interfaith dialogue.

1. Speak Gently
At all times, Muslims must show the best of manners and wisdom when speaking of faith to others. One must listen carefully, and share opinions with careful thought and patience.
Allah [God] said in the holy Qur'an:
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
"Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.

[the holy Qur'an - Translation of 16:125]

and:
"And argue not with the people of the book (Jews and Christians) except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our God and your God is one; and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."

[the holy Qur'an - Translation of 29:46]

2. Recognize that God is the One to Guide
Do not feel discouraged if people seem unconvinced by your beliefs, and are unwilling to share your faith. The Qur'an describes that God Alone is the One to guide people's hearts.
Allah said in the holy Qur'an:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things."

[the holy Qur'an - Translation of 2:256]

3. Part Kindly From Those Who Ridicule Faith
If you face someone who persistently ridicules or mocks your faith, and is obviously unwilling to listen to your point of view, quietly withdraw from the situation. Do not become angry or engage in arguments.

Muslims are also required to respect all those who are faithful and God conscious people, namely those who received messages. Christians and Jews are called People of the Book. Muslims are asked to call upon the People of the Book for common terms, namely, to worship One God, and to work together for the solutions of the many problems in the society.

I hope that was beneficial.

I go to a school with very diverse groups including muslims and indeed I learned allot. as you get older and are surrounded in a diverse group you realize we are all the same. though one thing I like to point is how smart they are in my school well mainly the females, they are like everyone elese they hang out with every one and fangirl about one direction like any girl I wish others will not be harsh or racist towards them theyre people.

i'm a Jew and i don't see ANY differences between Jews , Muslims and Christians - as i see it , we are all brothers and  sisters of the same family , i would like to think and believe and know that we all the same and we just should get along we each other

We Christians still recognize the the Torah we call it the Old Testament so we are member of the Jewish community and the Muslims do recognize the old and New Testament (which they saved when the Roman Empire fell apart) making them apart of our community. If you read closely all the believe the same core ideals it's of we preach it that is different

I haven't gone to church in years, so I don't really understand why there are three incarnations of God. By that I mean God/Yahweh, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Muslims have it easy with Allah, the one and only. Jews only have Yahweh/God too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

16carkim In reply to TheDusty321 [2015-02-12 12:41:36 +0000 UTC]

It's kinda hard to explain.
You see, Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God (and the reincarnation of God in flesh) to show the people of the world the right way to live (Not to mention dying for all sins). The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God which can be present in earth, which some Christians believe that it lives inside of them. And yes, it's true that Muslims know god by one name, which is Allah. But if I remember right they have profits as well. Muslims believe that Jesus was merely a profit and died for only the Jews. Muhamid, however, (also a profit) died for the whole world. All religions in a sense are confusing, But I can see where you'd find the Christian interpretation of God, quite confusing (:

this is really great, clearly better than the first interfaith picture as nuns hardly represent christianity as a small minority group plus the fact that they are doing monasticism which is forbidden in islam and which would probably keep her from having muslim girlfriends anyway.... i've come across this one several times and it cheers me up each time! i wish my society was like that, then i may have less struggle looking at conversion with an open mind.. haha plus this makes me wanna make cookies^^

my friend, I think it all starts from individuals. if everyone took an open-minded stance and cared to learn a little about the others in order to break the ice, then I believe tolerance and understanding are very possible.

My mother is Jewish and My father is a Lutheran, they spent my childhood taking me to temple, church and mosque, i thank them everyday for teaching me tolerance and love. they faced ignorance from there own families for their marriage, and for what they preached to me and my brothers. I showed them this picture and they told me to set it as the family's computer background.
I love Abraham, I love Jesus and I love Mohamed, but furthermore i love my fellow person, weather i know them our not.

thank you, I hold my family very close to my heart. when you come from a place where sometimes people are afraid for the sake of being afraid, its nice to have some understanding that despite religion, politics or even skin color  we all couldn't be more alike. And as cheesy as this sounds, I believe that humanity is one big family, and that is our duty to look our for each other, not break each other down.

Aww, thank you ! I haven't had the time to work on anything I can post on DA lately though because 1) I've been working crazy hard on my academic courses and 2) I'm working on my portfolio (my first interview is in March!). Hopefully though, I'll have time to at least do a comic page to put up

Thanks! I hope it's good enough I'm so worried about the other things I have to consider as well, though haha (sketching and written test, and the fact that I redid physics and English to upgrade my mark). Architecture is just soo competitive it's nerve-racking!

bloodylittlegirl In reply to metalangel123 [2014-03-12 01:06:55 +0000 UTC]

It's alright my internet had been down for a while anyway. I began to go through Tumblr withdrawal....

I understand completely, I am taking a Psychology class... never before have I seen so many people who want to be the teachers pet. I like some playful competition, but by nature I am not a very competitive person. So to suddenly have to fight your peers just to maintain your place, it is truly nerve-racking, I hear you... But, I guess classes like this need competitive students, these are things you want the top of the class doing.
So, is Architecture fun? other then the competitiveness I mean. I wanted to take it as an art/science, but my scheduled did not work out. I took a physics course once, managed to pass by the skin of my teeth... ha ha. -sad- its not that I didn't understand it, I just couldn't explain how I understood it.
Well the fact that you where willing to retake classes shows that you are more dedicated than most. I for one would have a very hard time doing that. I hope that despite everything you can still find time for things you find enjoyable. Right now I am in the middle of testing, most student are lucky if they can find time to sleep. Well good luck I hope the competitive attitude in your architecture calms down, so you can go to class without your blood pressure going though the roof!  hang in there my friend!

metalangel123 In reply to bloodylittlegirl [2014-03-29 00:12:43 +0000 UTC]

Teachers pets annoy the hell out of me, mainly because they get their teacher to give them all of these extra marks. It's especially true in subjects where it's easy to be biased in (like English and social sciences). Rather than be competitive, our classmates usually help each other (whether it's waiting by the door when the previous class just had a test to ask questions about it, or asking for tips and suggestions in courses like photography). It sucks that you have to study in that type of environment
It is! I'm taking gr12 tech design right now (which is kind of like the course architecture course, since it prepares students who actually want to study arch. in university). And with an architecture degree, you can practice architecture, interior design, and landscaping, my three favourite things! From what I've heard, at one of the universities I've applied to (waterloo), in the 2nd year, you design a chair, and then actually make it in the third year. It sounds really fun, and the chairs they had displayed were gorgeous.
Thank you! I'm glad that it worked out, because I'm halfway to being accepted to waterloo (accepted by marks, but they still have to see me for my portfolio interview, and for my drawing and writing tests).

Thank you for your encourage and kind words
